In the City was premiered in The 2nd Annual Beijing Dance Festival. 

By neatly using of the stage, the choreographer has tactfuly linked up 

different seemingly unrelated solos together, to interpret the sense of 

alienation in modern urban life.

Choreographer Introduction

Liu Yifeng is from Hunan Province where he studied dance at the Hunan Hengyang 

Art School from 1995-1998. After completing his studies there, he moved to the 

Central University of Nationalities where he trained in the dance department from 

1998-2001. In 2001, Liu Yifeng joined the Central Nationalities Song and Dance 

Company. Liu Yifeng also had the opportunity to study at the Japan Institute for 

Foreign Artists. He joined LDTX in 2006. Liu Yifeng has choreographed many pieces 

including “Desert”, “Whispering Wind” and “In the City”.
