Laura AREND joined the Conservatory of Lyon (CNSMDL), then the Jeune Ballet. In 2009, she was accepted into Merce Cunningham Studio in New York and later joined the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (KCDC) in Israel.
AREND has choreographed works for LAC with: Yama, Five, Anna, Yiro, Midas and Leon. She was commissioned to create short pieces for the Jeune Ballet Europe and Aquitaine, the Conservatory of Amiens, and by the Tel-Aviv Museum of Contemporary Art to create a performance to mark the centenary of the Dada movement.
In 2023, Laura took part in the evening curated by Kammertballetten, and shared an evening with Paul LIGHTFOOT and Ella ROTSHCILD.
In parallel with her choreographic work, AREND makes herself available for various projects. She dances in Valérie DONZELLI's feature film Notre Dame (2019) and took part in various events of the Opéra National de Paris under the direction of Dimitri CHAMBLAS and poses for the editorial of Gala Magazine. She collaborated with La Horde for the runway of Isabel MARANT during Paris Fashion Week, and performed under the choreography of Jill CROVISIER and Axelle LAGIER.
AREND is the founder of Gala Hope, a charity dance gala. And most recently, she created a solo piece, Magnus, for Marie-Agnes GILLOT.
Company Introduction
LAC is a contemporary dance company based between France and Luxembourg, under the artistic direction of Laura AREND.
The company's creations are the result of the impact of reality in the space of performance. Through committed, demanding dance and sensitive virtuosity of the body, the choreographer summons our collective cultural memory. The experience of a physical and metaphorical journey is central to her choreographic work.
Laura AREND pursues her commitment to socio-cultural issues by reinforcing on stage the status of the emancipated, free and powerful woman.

Tarab
A gigantic spinal column blows like grass in the wind, fanning the dancers across the stage. We gaze upon the heart of Tarab, this ductile calligraphy, alive and spreading in the background, now unfolding into two continuous, rhythmic lines of lingering, magnetic agitation.
What follows is an uninterrupted choreographic phrase in continual metamorphosis. It avoids accented beats, favoring the transitions between fluid patterns and forms with a certain mysterious quality.
In the wake of the sextet Nil (Swiss Dance and Choreography Award 2011) and its effervescent undulation of flowing bodies, Tarab unveils ten dancers in striking combinations.
It calls to mind the DNA of our shared humanity as much as the cultural jigsaw puzzle unfurling in the hybrid choreographic grammar of Laurence YADI and Nicolas CANTILLON.

Choreographer Introduction
Since the creation of Compagnie 7273 (2003), Laurence YADI and Nicolas CANTILLON have developed a dance style that invites the body to continuously and endlessly unravel.
Their research is inspired by the specific Arabic music system of Maqâm. Each maqam describes a «tonal-spatial factor» or a set of musical notes and the relationship between them.
It allows the musician to play in-between the notes and gives him the opportunity to express himself.
Named Multi styles Fuitt Fuitt by the choreographers themselves, the transfer of
this technique into the body ables the movements to weave into each other in a
wavy, spiraled and hypnotic dance. Throughout their career, Laurence Yadi and Nicolas Cantillon created about 20 pieces: from silent ones to danced-concerts, from duets to group pieces, all of which they toured internationally (Africa, Asia, United-states, Europe, Middle-East, North Africa and Russia).
Company Introduction
Laurence YADI and Nicolas CANTILLON founded Dance Compagnie 7273 in Geneva in 2003. Laurence Yadistudies sport before getting involved into dance. Nicolas Cantillon was a rockmusician and then started a second career as dancer and performer. Afterdancing with different contemporary dance companies, both artists met in Geneva and created Compagnie 7273 in 2003.
Their first piece “La vision du lapin” had an immediate success. Today the two choreographers realized some 12 choreographies and 3 films, including a new version of Stravimsk’s ballet Petrouchka for the Geneva Opera Ballet in October2011.

What lies beneath our connection with another human, and in particular, what is the hidden voice that shares the truth of this connection? Are we truly ourselves or are we simply constructed through another, darker influence?
Imago interrogates the nature of the human condition seen from the perspective of the hidden dysfunctions in relationships, experienced in various intoxications that alter, shape and deform the self as well as our relationships.
The toxic natures that we exhibit are represented through floral symbolism inspired by the historical 'Language of Flowers'. The white pillars on which the bouquets are arranged create ever-changing visual architectures as the couple navigate their internal landscapes and interactions.
Imago reflects on a universal condition that we all experience to varying degrees, and on the progression of our being towards fulfillment and autonomy.
