Choreographer Introduction

LI Han-zhong 

Graduated with a BA degree at the Beijing Dance Academy (Chinese Ethnic Dance) in 1991. 

Upon graduation, he joined the Guangdong Modern Dance Company as dancer, artistic assistant and 

choreographer. He was invited by Willy TSAO to be the Deputy Artistic Director for the Beijing Modern 

Dance Company in March 1999. In September 2005, he set up BeijingDance/LDTX together with Willy TSAO, 

and has been the company’s deputy artistic director. LI has been invited by many dance institutions as guest 

choreographer. His major choreographic works include: Sound of Heaven, All River Red, Undetermined Domain, 

Rear Light, The Bed Story and The Cold Dagger.

MA Bo 

Graduated with a BA degree from the Beijing Dance Academy, division of Chinese Ethnic Dance in 1991 

and became a faculty member at the Beijing Dance Academy. She joined the Guangdong Modern Dance Company

in 1993, and the Beijing Modern Dance Company in 1999 and became one of the founding members of the 

BeijingDance/LDTX in 2005. MA Bo is known for her creative energy, her own choreography includes Variation of 

Red, Garden of Memory and others. Since 1994, MA Bo and LI Han-zhong have worked together as partner in 

choreography, and produced works such as Undetermined Domain, All River Red, Rear Light and The Cold Dagger.
