An Indo-Chinese collaboration between China’s BeijingDance LDTX and India’s Rhythmosaic-Sengupta Dance Company to celebrate 65th year of Panchsheel Treaty, Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, between India and China. White Lotus·Black Sand showcases a combination of Kathak (one of Indian classical dance), Taichi and various contemporary dance movements, reflecting the similarity and also diversity of the two countries.
Rhythmosaic-Sengupta Dance Company
Rhythmosaic-Sengupta Dance Company is on a constant tryst of pushing the boundaries in the field of classical & contemporary movement art, but is always retaining the traditional nuances yet exploring the far sighted contemporary possibilities. The company exercises Classical KATHAK as its mother discipline and at the same time follows a strict conservatory training in contemporary dance technique and philosophy. It is affiliated with ICCR (Indian Council For Cultural Relations), and Ministry of Culture of Government of India, receiving regular supports from Alliance Francaise, Sangeet Natak Akademi and the Government of India. It has performed around the world including: Royal Danish Ballet Theater, Philharmonic Society in Belarus, Dance Centrum in Sweden, and participated in: Sweden’s Abundance Dance Festival, China’s Beijing Dance Festival, Thailand’s International Dance Festival, Russia’s India-Russia Meet INNOPROM, Asia Europe Meet organized by Indo-American Arts Council in New York.
