| Willy Tsao (Company Director/Artistic Director) has been instrumental to the development of the modern dance in China. Tsao was born and educated in Hong Kong and received his modern dance training in the U.S. from 1973 to 1977. In 1979 he graduated from the University of Hong Kong with an MBA degree, and established the Hong Kong City Contemporary Dance Company. He was invited to teach modern dance at the Beijing Dance Academy in 1986. From 1987 to 1991, he was the teacher and advisor for the Guangdong Dance School modern Dance Program. He has conducted intensive modern dance workshops in many cities in China since 1987, Including Shanghai, Wuhan, Kunming, Fuzhou, Taiyuan and Daqing etc. He helped to set up the Guangdong Modern Dance Company, the first professional modern dance company in China, and had been its Artistic Director from 1992 to 1998. He was invited to be the artistic director of the Beijing Modern Dance Company in 1999. In September 2005, he left the Beijing Modern Dance Company and set up the Beijing LDTX Modern Dance Company.
Tsao’s choreographic works vary in style and have been presented in the U.S., Canada, Korea, Japan, Israel, Germany, France as well as Beijing, Shanghai and Taipei in China. In July 1999, he was awarded the “Bronze Bauhinia Star” by the Hong Kong SAR government for his significant contribution to the development of local arts. Other honors and awards include the “Dancer of the Year” award from the Hong Kong Artists Guild (1988), the “Ten Outstanding Young Persons” (1990) “The Badge of Honor” from H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth II (1993) and the “Louis Cartier Award of Excellence-Outstanding Choreographer” (1998).
His major choreographic works include: “Bird Songs”, “Kunlun”, “China Wind, China Fire”, “Wandering in the Realm of Lightness”, “One Table Two Chairs”, “Sexing Three Millenniums”, “In Search of the Grand View Garden”, “Warrior Lanling” and more.

Xu Yiming
Xu Yiming studied at the Beijing Runliang Dance School and joined the Guangzhou Song and Dance Company in 2001.
Six months later, he joined Beijing Modern Dance Company.
He danced with BMDC until 2005 when he became a fouding member of LDTX.
He has choreographed many works including, “Dad”, “Twi and Twa”, “The Snail”, “Trailing the Sun” and others.

Liu Chang
Liu Chang was born in Wuhan, Hubei Province.
Liu Chang studied dance at the PLA Art Academy.
In 2003, he joined the Song and Dance Ensemble of the PLA Air Force’s political department.
He joined LDTX in 2006.

Yang Dong
Born in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia.
Entered the Inner Mongolia College of Arts, Dance Department in 2000.
Studied at PLA Art Academy, Dance Department from 2005 to 2009.
Became a dancer of BeijingDance / LDTX in June 2009.

Liao Sidi
Liao Sidi is a founding member of LDTX.
She was born in Chongqing and began her studies at the Beijing Dance Academy Affiliated High School, Division of Chinese Classical Dance.
Liao Sidi graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1999 from the Beijing Dance Academy in both the Choreography department and the Modern Dance division.
She joined the Beijing Modern Dance Company in 1999 and helped found LDTX in 2005.
She has choreographed “Madame Y”, “Tangles”, “Dream Creature”, “Cold Blood” and other works.

Zhao Kexin
Zhao Kexin was born in Kaifeng, Henan Province.
She studied at the Guangdong Dance School.
In 2005, Zhao Kexin graduated with a Bachelor degree from the Beijing Dance Academy, Division of Ethnic Dance.
She joined LDTX in 2006 where she has choreographed “Break Out”, “Dream of Red Skirt Again” “Looking Up to the Sky” and “Resident of the City.”

Hong Ling
Hong Lin is a founding member of LDTX.
Born in Fujian, she trained at the Provincial Arts School, Department of Dance.
She then joined the Fujian provincial Song and Dance Company.
In 2001, she joined Beijing Modern Dance Company and became a founding member of LDTX in 2005.
Her choreographic works include, “The Wind from the Forest", "1,2,3", "The Tangerine is Ripe" and others.

He Yao
Born in Binzhou, Hunan Province.
Studied at Beijing Runliang Dance School from 1997 to 2001.
Entered Beijing Dance Academy, Chinese Folk Dance in 2001.
Became a dancer of BeijingDance / LDTX in June 2009.
