The 2nd Annual Beijing Dance Festival
As one of China’s leading modern dance companies, BeijingDance / LDTX not only performs and creates its own cutting-edge choreography but also works to promote, inspire and provide opportunity to young modern dance artists. The 2nd Annual Beijing Dance Festival is an unprecedented dance event in Beijing. In China’s current artistic climate, it is difficult for young and undiscovered artists to find opportunities to perform. BeijingDance/ LDTX wants to change this by providing the rare opportunity to learn, exchange and perform in China’s cultural capital. The festival will bring the Beijing audience five different performances and will present more than 50 original works by dozens of choreographers and dancers.
BeijingDance / LDTX’s Annual Dance Festival strives to introduce world-class artists to the Chinese audience as well as nurture modern dance creation within China. This year, BeijingDance/ LDTX held an open call for performers from all over China. The festival attracted a wide range of artists, including the well-known Xing Liang, Zhao Ming and the Taipei Crossover Dance Company; choreographers from Beijing Dance Academy and other professional dance schools; troupes such as Tao Dance Theater (Beijing), Peng Lai Dance Collective, Fan Troupe (Beijing), Diandian Corridor (Guangxi) and GuWu Theater (Guangxi), Tianjin Conservatory of Music, Harbin Normal University, and J-town Physical Film and Theatre Lab (Shandong). |
