An ethnic Tibetan born in Gansu, Sang Jijia was a dancer with the Guangdong Modern Dance Company from 1993 to 1998 and won the gold prize in the male section of the Paris International Modern Dance Competition in 1996. Sang was named ìStar across the Centuryî in 1997. He was awarded an Asian Cultural Council Scholarship and American Dance Festival Scholarship in 1998. He joined CCDC in December 1999. In 2002, under the auspices of the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative Program, Sang studied choreography under William Forsythe and stayed with the Forsythe Company as choreographer and dancer until 2006. Sang Jijia became the Resident Artist of BeijingDance / LDTX and Guangdong Modern Dance Company in 2007. Sangís works have been presented in Koreaís Chang Mu Dance Festival, Swiss International Dance Festival, International Computer Music Festival, Taipei Arts Festival, Holland Dance Festival.

His works include: “Comrade”, “Stay Still”, “Show You Colors”, “365 Ways of Doing and Undoing Orientalism”, “Happening Continuous”, “Unspeakable” , “Sticks” and more.
